Turkey and Sun-Dried Tomato Burger

A hamburger is one of my husband's favorite dishes. I like it, too. Juicy patties on soft buns, served with pickles, ketchup and mustard... To me, a burger is the ultimate American food. We go to Wendy's for a quick bite and sometimes try famous burger places in New York city. However, when I cook a burger at home, I'll put a little... or a lot of twists to it. This time, I packed patties with tons of Mediterranean flavors and finished it off with lemon mayonnaise sauce. To make it healthier, I used 99% fat free ground turkey and sandwiched the patties with Arnold's multi grain Sandwich Thins, which contain only 100 calories per serving. I also replaced french fries with quinoa and the grape fruits salad. This could be the healthiest burger plate on the planet!

Turkey Sun-Dried Tomato Burger Print Recipe

QuantityIngredients
1/3 cupsun-dried tomato
1egg
1 poundground turkey
2 Tbspbread crumbs
1 clovegarlic, minced
1/4 cupchopped flat leaf parsley
1 tspcoarse black pepper
1/4salt
1/2 cupcrumbled feta cheese

olive oil

6 Tbspmayonnaise
1 Tbsplemon juice
1 clove garlic, finely minced

salt

pepper

4multi-grain Sandwich Thins, or your choice of burger buns
a fewlettuce leaves

Directions
  1. Preparation: Soak the sun-dried tomatoes in water for at least 30 minutes to soften.  Drain and cut into small pieces.
  2. Make Patties: In a large bowl, combine the sun-dried tomatoes, egg, ground turkey, bread crumbs, garlic, parsley, pepper and salt.  Hand mix until uniformed.  Add the feta cheese and mix until combined.
  3. Divide mixture into four equal balls.  Take one ball at a time, toss the meatball from one hand to the other a few times.  This take the air out from the patties and prevents from cracking.  Shape each ball into a patty.  Press the center of each burger with a thumb and make indentations.  This prevents the burgers from rising at the center and helps to cook them evenly.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan.  Place the patties in the pan, and cook for about 6 minutes each side, or until cooked through.
  5. Make the sauce: In a small bawl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and garlic.  Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Assemble the burger: In order, place the bread, lettuce, patty, sauce, bread.
